Hands down one of the best restaurants in Portland. Incredible gastronomic experience with unique selection of dishes ranging from seafood to unique meat choices to excellent vegetable selection. A place worth come back to with friends or family to share a delightful experience. The organic vegetable options and local choices were the best part for me. My group enjoyed every dish! We barely got to take pictures of everything.

Amazing meal at Fore Street! Reservation is highly recommended. Love the ambiance in here and the wood fired focused menu. Our favorite bites were the heirloom tomato pastry special , mussels, and the pecan butterscotch dessert. We had the chicken and ribeye for our mains but these were not as standout. Chicken was a very large portion though. The ribeye was a bit thin for our liking. Also tried the blueberry pie (not pictured) but preferred the other dessert. We hope to return one day! We would plan to share more small plates in lieu of entrees.

This was at the top of every restaurant recommendation list for Portland, Maine. So on our mini weekend getaway we knew we had to get a table. A reservation is required, but if line up at 4:00 you might get lucky and get a same day table. That's what we were able to do. It was just 2 of us and we were in line by 4:13 and lucky enough to get a table the same day! Dinner as absolutely delectable. It definitely lived up to the expectations. I really love that the dining experiences in Portland are largely farm to table, there's an emphasis on quality of ingredients, such attention to detail, amazing food and the environments are elevated but still more casual. With this caliber of food, I'd expect it to have a dress code, but it doesn't. I love that. Overall just a lovely dining experience from start to finish. You can feel the pride taken to deliver these beautiful dishes.

Highly recommend going when they open and getting on the wait list if you don't have a reservation. We went at 5pm and they were able to seat us around 6:30. We were able to leave and go shopping and get a text when the table was ready. Our server was wonderful and attentive. The drinks came out quickly and so did the food. Highly recommend trying whatever specials they have, but all the food was great. The oysters were fabulous. Save room for dessert!

I don’t want to give it a 4 but I don’t want to give it a 3 either. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The muscles we had for our appetizer were very good. Unfortunately we ordered the halibut special with orzo risotto for our main with a size of Brussels sprouts and it was flavorless and under cooked and certainly not the right consistency for risotto. It also was nearly 30 minutes between finishing our app and receiving our main. Unfortunately the chairs in the candlelit room are rustic but soooo uncomfortable.

We were visiting Portland for only a day, and we were so glad we found this restaurant. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and welcomed. The open kitchen they have is pretty massive and is part of the dining room. You can see everything that the Chefs are doing. To me, this just shows another level of confidence and passion towards the food they are cooking for the guests, and also how well-maintained the kitchen is in terms of hygiene. They start you off with some bread and folks let me tell you, this was one of the best appetizer breads I've ever had in the states, apart from the time I visited the sourdough factory in San Francisco. The only place to top it would be Paris but hey that's Paris. You can already tell the main dish is going to be amazing. We had the Oysters, Squid and the Haddock Filet. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable, as he explained all the dishes as it came out. Overall, a fantastic experience in Portland. I would definitely come back with my family in the future.

Had dinner here and ordered the squid, scallops, and steak. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Being from NYC, I was surprised that the prices here were better and the portions were actually bigger. My server Sydney was nice and attentive throughout the meal. The restaurant has a really cute vibe, warm and cozy without feeling too formal. My only small suggestion would be to play some low-volume jazz when it’s not too busy since it can get a little too quiet at times. Overall, a great dining experience.
